A slightly geographical clue...

If you had your handy-dandy audio file reverser, you know that Hoagy Carmichael composed "Rockin' Chair". If not, you had to rely on Will for the answer. Here's your next clue, my little romance novelist.

Next door to where Hoagy wrote “Stardust”, you can break away for a cup of coffee. Who’s yer connection here?

When you know the answer, comment on this post or email it to moreyarte@gmail.com.

  1. The Book Nook, where Hoagy wrote "Stardust" (Now Buffa Louies on Indiana Ave) is next door to Starbucks - that building was originally the Varsity Pharmacy.

  2. True enough. The building where Hoagy wrote Stardust is next door to Starbuck's. Starbuck's, however, is not a "who". Read the clue again...

  3. Hoagy once performed at the Little 500 - and the Starbucks on Indiana has a nice display about the race and the movie, "Breaking Away," based on the Little 500. The movie features a team of men from Bloomington called the "Cutters."

Morey, you also mentioned that Hoagy won an Oscar...so did Breaking Away - so perhaps "Oscar" is your connection.

Another interesting tidbit - Carmichael, a die-hard Republican, actively supported the campaign of Wendell Wilkie for president in 1940 - Wasn't Wilkie one of the spots Ms. Marple's Manuscript might be hidden?

    Sneaky clues indeed...

    1. Well, you have certainly done your homework, and you are almost there. "Oscar" is the big connection, but I'm still looking for a who. Who won the Oscar for Breaking Away?
